Victorian communities and volunteers play a key role in the ongoing protection and conservation of our coastal landscapes. To support these community groups and their activities, funding is provided through the Coastcare Victoria Community Grants Program.
Grants of up to $7500 will be provided to successful applicants to take practical local action to protect and enhance the coastal and nearshore marine environment.
The aim of the Grants Program is to support the conservation of coastal and marine ecosystems and environments across Victoria through rehabilitation, restoration and preventative actions undertaken by volunteer groups.
Who can apply?
All incorporated community groups can apply. These include Coastcare, Landcare, ‘friends of’ groups, naturalist groups, Coastal Committees of Management, non-government community organisations, indigenous organisations, land councils, trusts and cooperatives working on-country, community service organisations and clubs, and education institutions including schools and universities.
Non-incorporated community groups can apply if they have a sponsor who agrees to enter into a contract on their behalf. This sponsor must be an incorporated body. In some cases, the project sponsor may also be the land manager (for example, local government).
Applications for 2017 have closed and successful projects have been announced.
Please contact your local Coastcare Facilitator for information on any upcoming Coastcare Community Grants.
